Seattle to Vancouver

In August, we embarked on our Canadian Rocky trip at King Street Station in Seattle.  There we caught a train to Vancouver.  The 4-1/2 hour trip took us along the Coastline of Puget Sound, past islands up to Vancouver, stopping at several small towns and larger cities along the way.   Immigration was completed easily on the train with an official going through the cars checking passports.

We were met at the station by our transfer who took us to our hotel in downtown Vancouver.  After settling in, we wandered a bit, had a Pho lunch at a nearby restaurant where we met a couple from the Netherlands, and hopped on a Hop-on-Hop-Off Bus to tour the city. Though we rode the whole circuit,  we only got off at Stanley Park where we spent most of the afternoon enjoying the vistas, the totem poles, and rose garden.  Catching the last bus back, we got to our hotel in time to change for our dinner at a nearby restaurant, the Glowball.  It was a lovely dinner and set us up nicely for our coming trip.
