The Napali Coast is a 17-mile stretch of Kauai’s West Coast with stunning beaches, sea cliffs, and waterfalls.
Napali Coast unfolds as a 16-mile stretch of awe-inspiring beauty on the island of Kaua’i, extending from the remote Polihale Beach in the southwest to Ke’e Beach on the north shore. This pristine coastline is a visual masterpiece,with beautiful beaches, towering sea cliffs, and lush valleys with waterfalls cascading into the Pacific. Once home to Hawaiians, it now draws visitors from all over the word.
The historic Kalalau Trail, originally built in the 1800s,spans 11 miles and crosses five valleys. While the initial stretch from Ha’ena State Park to Hanakapi’ai Beach is suitable for a day hike, completing the full trail requires a camping permit and is recommended for experienced hikers. The journey is a testament to the island’s diverse landscapes and rich history.
Most people view the coast from boat or helicopter. Both give incredible views of the mountains, valleys, and waterfalls. We have taken both, helicopter once, a boat several times. Because of its beauty, this part of Kauai has been the backdrop for several movies.
